Apologia Anatomy & Physiology Resource

Our Anatomy & Physiology course has been humming along, and we are having a lot of fun with it! We just finished Unit 2 covering the Skeletal System, and I will soon be posting some great pictures and projects from that lesson.

I would like to share a really tremendous resource that we have used for extra practice identifying bones. Not only bones are included on the site, but all the body systems can be identified and practiced.

The site works like an interactive game, where there is a body outline in the center of your screen, and various body parts listed on the side. The student drags and drops the 'parts' onto the body. When the mouse hovers over the part, a small box comes up with an explanation of that part. The site keeps track of what the student has learned and rewards them with points for lessons completed. Even better than that?? It's completely free!!

There seems to be a lot more on this site that we haven't investigated yet, including free lessons and science games in other categories. Since we are focusing solely on Anatomy at this time, that's all we have used so far. But perhaps you will find it even more useful when you start browsing other sections as well!
